Role Overview:
Strategic Community Partners (SCP), a national firm that fosters equity within marginalized communities through strategic advising, project design, and initiative management, is seeking an Operations Manager. This vital position is based in our Piscataway, NJ, office, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our operational landscape.
In this capacity, you will be a cornerstone of the People + Culture department, offering direct support and reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Operations. Your role is critical in driving operational efficiency and elevating productivity within a vibrant, mission-focused setting.
What You'll Do:
Streamline Efficiency: You will refine and streamline administrative processes to enhance workflow efficiency, making our mission's realization smoother and more effective.
Project Managemen t: Take the helm on various projects, demonstrating exceptional leadership and organizational skills to meet strategic objectives.
Human Resources Support : Act as a vital support for our human resource functions, from recruitment to retention, fostering a culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Vendor Relations Oversight: Manage and cultivate relationships with vendors, ensuring alignment with our equity-driven mission and operational needs.
Business Process Optimization: Maintain and improve effective business processes, ensuring they are agile and aligned with our strategic goals.
Your Impact
As an Operations Manager, your work will directly influence our operational excellence and strategic direction. You'll ensure that our internal processes are not just effective but are also a reflection of our commitment to equity and community empowerment. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level, precise administrative and clerical support to enhance the efficiency of the operations department, ensuring that all tasks are executed with accuracy and effectiveness.
- Monitor and direct daily operational activities, guaranteeing all systems' smooth and seamless functionality.
- Craft and execute innovative organizational strategies and processes to propel the organization toward its strategic goals.
- Leverage Asana to monitor projects to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring timely and successful project outcomes.
- Coevaluate and refine office policies and procedures to boost operational excellence and adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Enhance the human resources function by streamlining staff onboarding and training processes, contributing to a supportive and engaging work environment.
- Support vendor relationships, ensuring all partnerships align with the organization’s strategic objectives and operational requirements.
- Collaborate on organizing team meetings and events, fostering collaboration and a positive organizational culture.
- Work closely with the VP to prepare and analyze reports, ensuring all documentation supports decision-making and strategic planning.
- Willingly take on additional responsibilities as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the team and organization’s success .
Essential Qualifications:
- An associate's or bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, human resources, or a related field. Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or HR (e.g., SHRM-CP) could be advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in operations, particularly in streamlining administrative processes, project management, and business process optimization. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of improving workflow efficiency and managing projects from conception to completion.
- A minimum of two years of experience in human resources functions, including recruitment, staff onboarding, training, and fostering a culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. Knowledge of HR best practices and legal compliance is critical.
- At least two years of experience in managing and cultivating relationships with vendors, with a strong ability to negotiate contracts, resolve conflicts, and ensure that vendor services meet the organization's needs and values.
- Ability to craft and execute innovative organizational strategies and processes that align with the organization's strategic goals and mission. This includes the capacity to work closely with leadership to prepare and analyze reports for strategic planning.
- Proficiency in using project management tools (e.g., Asana) and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and with external partners. This includes maintaining clear, accurate, and professional correspondence and documentation.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to foster a positive organizational culture and teamwork are crucial.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and adapt to changing organizational needs. The ideal candidate should demonstrate high flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Compensation & Benefits Package:
- Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000 (depending on experience& qualifications)
