Lead Project Engineer
As a Lead Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for leading and managing aerospace projects from initiation to completion. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects within scope, budget, and schedule. Your expertise in project management and aerospace engineering will be crucial in driving the success of our projects.
Be part of a team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance within Honeywell Advanced Electromechanical Solutions on Pneumatic Valve and Start Systems products. You will partner with world class engineering's and leaders to implement product strategies, develop program schedules and milestones, define technology roadmaps, and drive improvements in engineering quality and productivity.
You will be part of report directly to our Engineering Program Manager and you'll work out of our Tempe, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead and manage execution of aerospace technical projects from initiation to completion
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
• Technical problem solving & root cause analysis
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and milestones
• Identify and mitigate project and technical risks and opportunities through robust risk management
• Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders
• Customer and supplier technical communication and relationships
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards and regulations
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project or systems engineering
• Proven experience in leading and managing complex engineering projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
WE VALUE • Some experience in Pneumatic Valves, Start Systems, or mechanical components
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience supporting production processes, including Rolled Throughput Yield improvements
• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience with aerospace industry standards and regulations
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement
• Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving capability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tolls (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
