Opportunity at a Glance

The Instructional Designer role is responsible for designing and creating engaging and compelling learning activities and content in conjunction with key stakeholders. With a heavy emphasis on interactive and multimedia technology-driven components, this role requires extensive collaboration between content, course development, and educational technology colleagues and teams to apply best practices of instructional design to create high-quality and innovative courses for our colleagues. The Instructional Designer will also develop and disseminate course design standards, provide course-level and/or project-level management support to development efforts, and measure and analyze course effectiveness and usability across the curriculum.


Responsibilities

• Blend traditional learning approaches with existing and new technologies in order to create and deliver optimal training programs.

• Work with Subject Matter Experts to develop learning objectives and training content, and ensure that the information is current, accurate, and complete.

• Prioritize, design, and train the trainer on programs and curricula.

• Develop training aligned with the organization’s goals and mission.

• Design and develop interactive learning content including learning objectives, simulation scenarios, graphical art/media, and valid/reliable assessments.

• Develop and maintain assessment processes that monitor and evaluate performance skills based on outcomes tied to organizational effectiveness.

• Maintain and revise materials developed as needed.

• Design training programs and topics that meet the needs of the organization and institutions.

• Develop, promote, and maintain knowledge of adult learning theory and practice.

• Maintain current knowledge of emerging learning systems and current methodologies.

• Use the ADDIE model and innovative, immersive learning methodologies in curriculum design and development, as well as adult learning theory in course/curriculum design.

• Conduct training needs analysis to determine training objectives, instructional strategies, project scope.

• Deliver accurate, high-quality training courses and documentation within a specified time line and through the application of best practices and standards.

• Determine the best visual communication layout and design for training materials in order to enhance the learning and development of employees.

• Perform quality checks on all deliverables for content accuracy and effectiveness; demonstrate ownership of all instructional materials.

• Performs other duties as assigned

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $51962.03 and $93918.96. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
