Job Summary:

We are seeking a reporter/editor to join the ABC News Digital team to write breaking news and general assignment stories that will be published on ABCNews.com.

What You Will Do:

Our ideal candidate is someone with proven experience writing and editing breaking news for digital platforms. This person will have a strong sense of how to approach a story holistically – weaving together information from the field, their own reporting, videos, photos and social embeds to build stories that are sharp, informational and highly visual.

Additionally, this individual will have experience editing general interest and breaking news in a fast-paced environment with good news judgment.

The role is based in Los Angeles, with team members currently working a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote days. The hours are generally 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. PT Tuesday through Saturday, though the hours may shift occasionally depending on coverage needs.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $77,100- $103,400 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
