Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our corporate team and play a vital role in shaping our financial trajectory as we continue to grow.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable, posting monthly billing, and providing support to property managers.
- Handle accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of invoices, accurate account coding, and verification of debt validity.
- Prepare daily AP check runs and maintain financial records using Yardi software.
- Facilitate the setup of new vendors, including understanding 1099s and COIs.
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly and analyze financial statements, preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with audit preparations and undertake special projects as requested by the leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with Real Estate, Property Management, and GAAP accounting principles.
- Experience with Yardi or similar property management software preferred.
- Knowledge of HUD financed projects accounting is advantageous.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to work independently with motivation and professionalism.
