Join Inkelaar Law as a Pre-Litigation Paralegal in Tampa, FL and be part of providing excellent service to our clients while upholding confidentiality and quality assurance standards. Key Responsibilities: • Manage all aspects of client cases, including vehicle property damage, client treatment assistance, and gathering necessary documents. • Draft demands, prepare settlement statements, and request reductions. • Assist in settling claims, prepare for mediation and trial, and handle other administrative tasks. • Maintain professionalism and ensure quality in all facets of the job. This position will require consistency by following defined methods and procedures, patience and accountability. You will be contributing to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work will be performed under the supervision and training of the Legal Operations Manager and Managing Attorney Work Schedule 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Responsibilities: • Assist with filing of claims for all types of personal injury cases (Auto accidents, slip and falls, worker’s compensation in Nebraska and Florida). • Maintain client confidentiality through proper documentation and maintain good working. relationships with clients, lawyers and insurance companies through effective communication. • Gathering medical records, medical bills, lost wage documentation and other supporting documentation in preparation for demands. • Prepare and maintain medical expense itemizations and medical chronologies. • Review and maintain damage information and calculate damages for settlement demands. • Prepare thorough and accurate settlement demands for submittal to insurance companies. • Prepare settlement statements for attorney and client review in assistance with settlement negotiations. • Negotiate liens, medical bills, and settlements with providers or insurance companies. • Close out claims and distribute payments to providers. • Prepare legal documents, letters, and pleadings such as complaints, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, and affidavits under the supervision of attorneys. • Docket and comply with all deadlines in litigation. • Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses. • Create, maintain, and monitor discovery indexes. • Assist lawyers with trial preparation by organizing trial binders, and exhibits, aiding with client meetings, submitting motions, researching legal publications, and coordinating witnesses and experts. • Organize and maintain case documents so that everything is properly categorized and simple to find, as well as perform other administrative tasks as necessary. • Assist, supervise, and coach Legal Assistants. Key Performance Indicators Confirm all medpay requests before sending settlement demand. Send demands no more than 14 days after all supporting documents are received. Send a minimum of 9 demands per month. Confirm demands received no more than 7 days after a demand is sent. Obtain initial offers within 30 days of demands being sent. Obtain all medpay funds before the final offer is received. • All emails responded to within 24 hours. • Discovery responses are completed within 30 days of receipt. • Electronic discovery binders are to be completed after the discovery phase. • Confirm contact with clients every two weeks for the first three months of a claim and once a month after that. • All emails responded to within 24 hours. Qualifications: • This position requires strong communication skills both written and verbal, a strong ability to work independently or under pressure and good organizational skills. Compensation: $28.13 per hour
