Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (PE) - Muskegon, MI
Position Summary
Theka Engineering, a subsidiary of Newkirk Electric, is seeking qualified candidates for full-time Civil & Structural Engineering management and design at industrial and utility levels. Projects include storm water management design, grading, land balancing, concrete analysis, and steel design. This role will also require participation in the conceptual development of a project, cost estimating, overall project organization, scheduling, implementation, and field support. Contributing to a team environment, mentorship, utilizing shared resources, and operating in an efficient and organized manner are all aspects expected of this position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serving as a Technical expert on civil and structural design projects
- Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications
- Designs and prepares construction documents for concrete foundations and steel structures for utility and industrial infrastructure.
- Develop site civil plans and designs, soil and erosion control plans, storm water modeling software and permitting
- Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the designed systems
- Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them
- Supervise design team activities
- Manage work and development of team members
- Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
- A bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering or equivalent
- PE License in Michigan within 12 months of hire
- Travel to project sites located in Michigan
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and associated design tools
- Working knowledge of the latest AISC-360, ASCE-7, ACI-318, and other industry standards
- A passion for mentoring others
- Ability to think critically
- Demonstrated client management skills
