Job description
Samet seeks a responsible and team-oriented Contract Services Paralegal to support our corporate and project teams. A successful Contract Services Paralegal will demonstrate a strong attention to detail along with the ability to discover potential risks to our company. Our ideal candidate must be able to interface with a wide range of people, from project management teams to company executives, and with customers, trade partners and outside counsel.
Key Responsibilities - Track and review Notices of Subcontracts and prepare corresponding notice of payment letters
- Assist with preparation of subcontract addendums
- Review for compliance and track status of subcontractor bonds
- Monitor and maintain general contractor’s licenses
- Process signed contracts and prepare for distribution
- Assist with preparing and compiling contract exhibits
- Assist with the preparation of standardized forms and processes
- Assist with the preparation of lien waivers, warranty letters, and other miscellaneous documents
Qualifications/Requirements - Two-year business degree preferred; legal assistant or paralegal education, certification, or experience a plus
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a law firm in the areas of construction/construction litigation or contract law or in a construction firm with experience in construction contracts/subcontracts
- Team-oriented and works effectively with Associates at all levels and across multiple offices
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in an environment with frequent interruptions
- Self-starter, eager to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Good computer skills and willingness to learn new programs and processes; prior experience with AIA Contract Documents and Bluebeam Revu a plus
- Polished and professional interpersonal skills
- Must have valid driver's license
