Overview This position is for a Test Writer responsible for preparing Test Procedures and Comprehensive Problem Reports (CPRs) to for use in accomplishing inspections and shipboard testing of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HME) submarine systems and equipment in non-nuclear areas.
- The Candidate will be responsible for developing new Test Procedures from input provided by Engineering, and by reviewing applicable drawings and documentation.
- The Candidate will be responsible for developing CPR attachments to modify existing test procedures, based on Engineering input and by reviewing applicable drawings and documentation.
- The Candidate will also be responsible for incorporating previously approved changes and new changes into a revision of the existing document.
Responsibilities - Candidate must have the ability to review and comprehend engineering drawings and technical data, as well as be familiar with shipbuilding specifications, technical manuals and other source documents related to test documentation.
- Ability to complete work accurately while meeting schedules; attention to detail is essential.
- Possess strong interpersonal, oral and written skills.
- Possess a team attitude with willingness and capability to work well with other team members and organizations within the company.
Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- 2-5 years of Operating/Testing/Service experience with submarine systems
- Previous technical writing experience or technical work documents or formal work packages
- Familiarity with working with PC based systems and/or software requirements.
- Proficiency with Excel and Word is desired.
- NX/TeamCenter, Visio, or AutoCAD experience
