Develops, designs, builds and tests robotic platforms from prototype through product commercialization. Creates an integrated autonomous interface, mobility, communication, and human-robot interaction. Works with cross-functional teams to understand opportunities for robotic applications.
Responsibilities - Assists engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
- Programs, installs, tests, and maintains robots or automated components.
- Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.
- Investigate and troubleshoots defects or bugs, complete repairs and provides preventative maintenance.
- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
- Requires specialized expertise in technical processes or procedures
- Completes assignments and facilitates the work activities of others; may coordinate work beyond own area
- May act as a lead, providing subject matter guidance to team members but is not a supervisor
- Works autonomously within established procedures and practices; proposing improvements to processes and methods as needed
- May also be in charge of leading training for employees
Qualifications - Vocational/Technical Training Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience
- Preferred Education: Associate's Degree,Technical training preferred
- Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 7-8 years
- Oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Detail oriented. Problem-solving skills. Mathematic skills. Computer skills. Technical skills. Leadership skills.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- The position is safety sensitive.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Other job-specific working conditions: Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
