Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with considerable independence, developing operating plans and related operational processes for own department and monitoring the flow of work between own department and others in alignment with broader business objectives, selecting and developing effective managers and work teams, and managing own organization through reliable systems and processes.

Job Summary

The Director of Brand Management, HVO is a highly visible and cross functional role that will spearhead defining the brand vision, strategy, and activation across all audiences and touchpoints for the Hyatt Vacation Club Brand. A key business partner to other internal leaders, this leader will take a proactive role in planning processes to ensure protection of the Hyatt brand and reputation from a marketing and servicing perspective. A holistic business thinker and customer champion, this leader will play a key role in defining how the brand expands beyond creative delivery and assets by driving programs that deliver against short and longer-tailed goals including: elevated brand equity and relevance, increased preference and consideration campaigns, and continued demand/lead generation for profitable sales. This position will lead efforts to establish KPIs, analyze results metrics and adjust strategies for continuous improvement through our media and communication channels. The leader will work closely with other leaders within the Membership & Commercial Services organization as well as other key leadership teams throughout the enterprise (Sales and Marketing, Legal, Resort Operations, etc.) to identify and define programs that deliver on our goals, and then execute appropriate strategies to support them. By being a key member on the HVO business team, this position will ensure cross functional business alignment of brand-level efforts to ensure the optimal customer journey experience and continued loyalty from our owners and guests. This position is responsible for evaluating cost-benefit analysis, conceptualization, and developing success measurements related to Brand marketing campaigns and strategies for the VO business.

Expected Contributions

▪ Develops strategic plans and workable business processes for own department in alignment with function strategy.

▪ Manages larger business processes and/or projects, setting priorities and measurable objectives, monitoring and reporting on the process, progress and results. Typically influences work of cross-functional or extended teams.

Responds to, solves, and makes decisions on business requests that have broader department impact and/or moderate risk. Presents alternative solutions to business issues by leveraging the broader organization.

− anticipating staffing requirements by comparing business needs with strengths and weaknesses of existing staff.

− using appropriate MVW interviewing tools to hire the best managers available from inside or outside.

Specific Expected Contributions

▪ Establishes and executes Global Brand Management strategies in coordination with key business partners.

▪ Acts as liaison for brand with Hyatt Corp team.

▪ Plays key role in guiding agency relationships for needed positioning work.

▪ Understands long term growth objectives substantiated by brand awareness, management of the brands, brand positioning, brand essence and affinity growth, and can verbalize these strategies to partners, while demonstrating the effectiveness through measured KPIs; in balance with also needed shorter term financial goals and business objectives.

▪ Drives strategic direction, marketing brief and implementation of brand messaging for brand marketing campaigns and coordinates closely with Director of Content Strategy and Social, and the Global Creative Team for delivery.

▪ Leads Brand Manager to support key business areas within the enterprise.

▪ Collaborates with key partners to gain strategic input resulting in creative execution, digital optimization and solutions that deliver on project goals.

▪ Works hand in hand with B&D internal teams to bring fully integrated promotional strategies to life that support business needs while elevating the brands and customer experience: Brand Content Strategy, Global Creative, Communications/PR, Data/Insights and Digital teams.

▪ Partners with business leaders throughout the enterprise to determine opportunities for cross-channel optimization and maximization.

▪ Works closely with partners and internal team to ensure brand consistency, tone of voice and positioning across all communication touchpoints.

▪ Provides strategic direction on brand strategy to introduce new products, sites, and promotions to our customers.

▪ Establishes and maintains positive, strategic relationships with internal and external departments (i.e., VO Sales and Marketing; IRM, Global Creative and Delivery, Digital Customer Experience, Resort Operations, Club Strategy Leadership, Customer Advocacy,

▪ Acts as the key contact to coordinate the work of cross functional teams to ensure continuity with the needs of the business, alignment with current and future business goals and objectives and delivery of required functionality on approved timeline. Directs project timelines.

▪ Identifies and anticipates partner needs. Works with appropriate internal resources and vendors to help teams execute the strategies that will meet their goals.

▪ Directs multiple efforts, ensuring successful completion within schedule and budget constraints, while following MVW standards and meeting business needs.

▪ Provides financial input on department budgets, expenditures or other costs estimates as requested.

▪ Ensures that process changes are communicated to all impacted areas of the organization.

▪ Complete other appropriate tasks as assigned by the AVP, Global Brand Management.

Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally, a senior position requiring significant knowledge and experience in one or more disciplines and/or business operations as well as associate and organizational management experience. College degree required. Advance degree or professional certification is typically required.

▪ Four-year college degree or equivalent appropriate, practical work experience. ▪ Minimum of ten years of progressive management/leadership experience leading projects and teams of people preferred.

▪ Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing processes and/or projects, comprehensive strategic communications, media relations, or marketing programs to advance an organization's mission and goals.

▪ Experience leading projects made up of leaders across an enterprise.

▪ Experience in a making critical business decisions that will impact the enterprise.

▪ Demonstrated professional growth in previous positions.

▪ Prior experience in positions which require communicating to various levels of a complex organization. Communication style should be appropriate to the level of the organization being addressed.

▪ Ability to understand, develop and maintain department budgets required.

▪ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, involved instructions; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.

▪ Demonstrated ability to manage several distinctly different projects simultaneously, involving various operational units.

▪ Proven experience in scoping, analyzing, executing and delivering business initiatives on time and within budget.

▪ Business and strategic planning, conceptual thinking, problem solving, project management, ability to manage from performance metrics, financial analysis, strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated relationship and lateral influence skills.

▪ Strategic and conceptual thinking, writing marketing briefs, and presenting business plans, effective negotiation and relationship management.

▪ Strong interpersonal relationships and ability to influence senior decision-makers and other business line leaders in strategic alliance and product development arenas globally for MVW and our key business partners.
