About the Role & Team
The Design+Construction Technology team is driving the vision, implementation and support of technologies for model authoring, collaboration and analysis that guides the design and construction delivery of our built projects at Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI). If selected, you will report to the Manager - BIM & VDC Technology.
Project Hire
This is a Long Term Project Hire (60 months) position without any guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do
Reporting directly to the Design + Construction Technology Lead, the successful candidate will work directly with the project’s Senior Project BIM-VDC Manager. This individual will have in-depth knowledge of building information modeling and construction delivery technologies. The primary objective of this individual will be to work closely with the Senior BIM-VDC Manager and Technology Studio product development teams to expand the use of BIM and VDC technology tools, methods and practices set by the leadership team at the project level

- Work directly with the Senior Project BIM-VDC Manager to engage the project production teams in advancing technology innovations
- Preparation and execution of BIM Project Execution Strategy
- Ensure Model-based Coordination is performed as outlined by the project strategies
- Create a model management approach for each project that allows for optimized model performance and delivery
- Provide technical support for the project team across many disciplines in a non-traditional AEC and Entertainment Studio
- Represent the owner’s interests on all design and construction technology implementation issues
- Document lessons learned for all design and construction technology strategies deployed on the project.
- Ensure model performance / health, data integration and correct collaboration setups throughout the project ecosystem
- Consult with stakeholders on implementation of BIM technologies
- Manage, develop, and maintain the 3D authoring platforms and/or modeling of the project in multiple platforms
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in design or construction related field
- Minimum 4 years of advanced and progressive BIM technologies, exhibiting hands-on experience in the AEC, media and entertainment business driving the adoption of design authoring and collaboration technology tools
- Advanced graphical, illustration and documentation skills, able to clearly illustrate and communicate complex technical processes
- Advanced knowledge of implementing BIM strategies beyond 3D modeling and clash-detection to include sophisticated data management and skills, assisting organizations in collecting on the benefit of optimizing design process
- Advanced skills in troubleshooting Revit modeling/visibility problems
- Advanced understanding of BIM360 and Navisworks approaches for model collaboration
- Ability to follow team coordination discussion and display relevant model content/views
- Will speak up in a room to draw attention to issues and solutions
- Manage and support the creation of Project-driven Level of Development (LoD) criteria based on needs
- Experience with delivery of permit drawing packages, bid packages, or other AEC deliverable types.
- Advanced skills in navigating Navisworks model quickly in a front of large group (section tool, walk, rotate)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in design or construction related field, or equivalent experience.
Expert level technical knowledge of:
- Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360/ACC, McNeel Rhino
Working level technical knowledge of:
- Solidworks, Autodesk Maya, Sketchup, Civil 3D, Grasshopper & Dynamo

The hiring range for this position in California is $136,038 to $182,490 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
