Job description

Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, four residency programs and nearly 40 affiliated physician practices

• Manage inventory level of OR supplies
• Assure proper maintenance and repair of OR equipment
• Responsible for efficient and effective management of the resources and personnel in the sterile processing department

Reports:

• RN/Nurse Manager

Supervises:

• Sterile Supply Tech I and II

Minimum:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred:

• Vocational/Technical School Degree

Required Experience:

Minimum:

• 1 year sterile processing experience 

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) credential from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) [formerly the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM)] or the Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) credential from the Certification Board For Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) within one (1) year post-hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of a sterile processing course and/or a vocational/technical school diploma/degree in surgical technology
• More than one (1) year of sterile processing experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
