ONSITE Location: Denver, CO

40 hours per week (excluding Federal Holidays) between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Up to 10 hours of overtime may be required per week.

Tasks/Duties:

This is a contract position supporting a Federal Government Office. This position will support the Office's mission of building a safe and strong Colorado community and representing the United States in federal court with determination, professionalism, and integrity. The Law Clerk's responsibilities will include:

  1. Reviewing documents, conducting legal research, and drafting pleadings, discovery documents and legal memoranda addressing a variety of federal criminal and civil issues, with particular focus on civil and criminal prosecutions of health care fraud against COVID-19 relief programs and civil opioid matters pursued under the False Claims Act and Controlled Substances Act.
  2. Otherwise assisting AUSAs in their work in litigating civil and criminal cases in federal district court and the Tenth Circuit to enforce laws relating to health care fraud and civil opioid matters. This work may include assisting the AUSAs in preparing for court hearings, meetings, and other events that occur in the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Monthly deliverables required.

Education Qualifications:

Minimum education is a JD degree. Bar admission is not required.

Certifications, License, Physical Requirements or Other Expertise Required:

Must have the ability to prove U.S. citizenship for the Law Clerk and that Law Clerk meets the Department's residency requirements.
