Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Technical Design Engineer. The role of Technical Design Engineer is to support the Engineers and Engineering Manager in providing drawings and equipment BOM as per customer requirements independently.
Job Description
- The Technical Design Engineer will support the service personnel in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.
- The Technical Design Engineer will be able to work on simple Engineering Work Request and comply with all departmental Work Instructions and Engineering Standards.
- The Technical Design Engineer will be responsible for checking and approving drawings / designs; interface communication, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of the electrical scope of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules meets customer’s requirements and Industrial Standards they produce.
- The Technical Design Engineer is expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and analysis of factual information.
- Provide and check drawings / BOM as per customer requirements.
- Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials) with no supervision from Engineer.
- Ensure drawings follow the Engineering and QA/QC standards.
- Prepare layout drawings to customer to present the proposed equipment and the function of the equipment.
- Prepare and complete various electrical deliverable drawings and documents such as cable routing, panel drawings, panel layout, electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, loop diagrams, single-line electrical wiring schematics, cable schedule, lighting location / layout / plan, instrument location / layout / plan, earthing details, I/O (Input/output) schedule, electrical termination hook-ups, etc.
- Help in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.
- Prepare sequence drawing and procedure for Factory Acceptance Test.
- Prepare and compile installation procedure for submission to customer.
- Supervise the outsourcing of engineering design work to 3rd party engineering / design firms.
- Review, as required, vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications or applicable standards.
- Produce report data from models and assist in providing necessary design information to Project/Client/Third Party, as required.
- Provide “Lessons learned” feedback and utilize findings from the process to update tools and procedures.
Skills Required
- Ability to produce drawings / sketches to illustrate design / ideas.
- Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments (strongly preferred)
- High level understanding of the purpose of electrical system for facilities.
- Experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
- Mastery knowledge and proficiency in: Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint); PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or other equivalent); Solid Works; Autodesk AutoCAD; Navisworks Manager / Freedom
- Operational knowledge in: SAP (ERP Tool w/ Engineering Modules and Transactions); Autodesk Revit; Autodesk BIM 360
- Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education/Training/Certifications
- Designer should be in possession a Technical Certification in the design discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical scopes of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules or related environment in similar industry.
