Position Overview:
As a Dispatcher at SPI, you will be at the heart of our operations, coordinating and optimizing the flow of resources to ensure efficient and timely delivery of services. We are seeking a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional service. A successful candidate will have experience in the transportation industry and be knowledgeable in industry lane rate. The positions will focus heavily on developing and maintaining carrier relationships to effectively move customers’ freight.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Efficiently dispatch and schedule resources to meet service demands.
- Use knowledge of shipping lanes, available partner carriers, and service requirements to locate carriers and negotiate freight coverage.
- Review loads and load parameters.
- Communicate effectively with other departments such as customers and internal teams.
- Handle emergency situations with calmness and precision.
- Negotiate and determine the rates to be paid to the carriers.
- Assign shipments to carriers and develop customer/carrier relationships.
- Schedule and confirm pickup and deliveries.
- Monitor and track all booked freight.
- Serve as the intermediary between the customer and the carrier to assist in the resolution of any issues.
- Communicate changes in load status to customers and carriers. Updating web portals with accurate information.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years’ experience in Dispatch coordinator
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English
- Proficient in using dispatching software and tools, Microsoft Office, and Excel
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Familiarity with TMS preferably Revenova
- Ability to work with little to no supervision, time management, multitasking
- Knowledge of load boards such as DAT, Truckstop
- Detail oriented with the ability to problem solve with relative ease
- Must pass drug test & background check

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
