The RN-Quality Consultant is Lean Six Sigma trained and assists and guides staff, leaders, departments and improvement teams with QI initiatives. The RN Quality Consultant facilitates the group processes and utilizes advanced LSS tools and methods to aide improvement teams/work to achieve project goals and objectives.

SIGN ON BONUS $10,000 with 2 years experience as a RN in Quality Improvement and RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

QUALIFICATIONS

License /Certification
Required: CA RN license
Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

Education:

Demonstrated evidence of quality improvement project tool application (ie. Lean Six Sigma tools, continuous quality improvement)

Advanced QI methods, Lean Six Sigma training, or equivalent experience

Lean Six Sigma training within 18-months of hire/transfer

Preferred:

Lean Six Sigma training
TeamSTEPPS training, Master Trainer Certification
BSN, MSN, or currently enrolled in RN-BSN program

Experience
Required:
Demonstrated experience with facilitation of group process, improvement teams
Demonstrated experience with use of advanced quality improvement tools

Preferred: Autonomously executes quality improvement projects from start to finish

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Applies quality improvement methods (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, Plan-Do-Check-Act, etc) to facilitate quality improvement teams to achieve successful outcomes.

Facilitates projects and teams effectively using a range of quality improvement tools and techniques (eg. 5 whys, process mapping, failure mode effects analysis, root cause analysis & data analysis, etc) to evaluate processes; applies appropriate tools to current projects.

Synthesizes information from relevant resources (eg. Electronic health records, registries, external databases, comparative and benchmark data and published research) to demonstrate current practice and identify opportunities for improvement.

Communicates quality improvement priorities and results using narrative and visual tools (eg. Graphs, dashboards, scorecards) appropriate to the audience.

Demonstrates effective project management skills. Utilizes change management principals to get results. When facilitating quality teams, manages the work defined in the project charter/project plan/scope to ensure the project moves forward according to the project plan goals and timelines. Maintains project plans/records such that they serve as an archive of project results.

Communicates promptly and effectively; establishes and maintains effective methods for keeping others informed and involved (eg. Director, medical director, project leaders & committees). Written reports and presentations reflect effective written communication skills. Develops and delivers effective oral presentations. Ensures absolute confidentiality of information, communicating only to appropriate staff.

Actively participates in case review process which could include event reports, coded complications or other patient safety issues. Participation includes review, analysis and communication to stakeholders.

Coordinates, develops and delivers of in-service training and educational sessions related to improving the culture of safety based on the organization's culture of safety survey results at the direction of department Director.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range
$45.53 -$68.30
