About the Job:
Key functions include but are not limited to managing, prioritizing, training events, warranty, new product introductions, market share growth and sales growth in Northern California.
Responsibilities
District Sales Manager:
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on named builders to expand our share at existing dealers.
- Stays builder-focused, encouraged to sign new builders, and expected to have existing bookings of $2M minimum.
- Supports the distributor to maintain proper stocking levels and brings in new inventory (NPI).
- Develop sales campaigns to achieve the builder market goals of the company.
General Duties Of District Sales Manager - Analyzes market trends and sales data to assist distributors in builder sales promotions for present and future business.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and explains features and attributes and advantages over competition.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer requirements, volume potential, competitive pricing.
- Represents company at trade shows and association meetings to promote product.
- Coordinates between customer service, technical service, engineering, and other departments as appropriate .
- Controls expenditures of personal geographic districts to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Provides input and implements annual sales plan for the territory, including sales strategy, to maximize return from the territory's assigned accounts/geographic area and to meet the territory's sales quotas established by the Regional Sales Manager.
- Manages and develops customer base through the effective use of Salesforce CRM. Identifies pipeline opportunities, and effectively schedules touchpoints upsell opportunities.
- Prepares monthly progress reports, monthly itinerary, weekly call reports, and weekly expense reports promptly and submits to Regional Sales Manager.
- May be responsible for the training and management of sales trainees, sales representatives, and territory sales managers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager or Vice President of Sales.
Qualifications Capabilities/Qualifications:
- A sustained level of sales achievement selling a range of products of a technical nature. Mechanical aptitude is essential. Personal computer skills required . Familiarity with automated control systems, basic electricity, plumbing hydraulics and/or water chemistry is a plus. A broad knowledge of swimming pool equipment and Company's products is a plus. Working knowledge of electronic chlorine generation, and solar, gas and electric heaters is a plus.
- Must also possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive long distances and travel by plane.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish
- Travel / overnight required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University is preferred.
- 3+ years of Sales experience with some knowledge of the pool equipment industry
