Job description

As our next Field Technician, you’re on your way to the open road and traveling the trails! We keep the lights on anywhere there’s a power line - whether in the city, the rural countryside, or deep in the remote forest. As a Field Technician, you’ll be assessing the condition of the utility infrastructure and reporting any broken or damaged components to the utility. This is a 12–14 week project. In this role, your office is the great outdoors!

Responsibilities: 

• Contact property owners & public agencies regarding property access
• Conduct electrical equipment and hardware inspections
• Report any vegetation in contact with power lines
• Input/Manage data accurately
• Safeguard employees and public from hazards in and around the work area
• Enforce on-the-job safety practices
• Carry and utilize materials, tools, and equipment at work site
• Service trucks and equipment, keep trucks and other assigned equipment in a neat and orderly fashion
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Test negative for drugs/alcohol
• Ability to hike and be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to learn and recognize basic electric utility components
• Ability to work independently
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills are a priority
• Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather
• Proficient in map navigation skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Field Maps and GIS is a plus
