Engineering designs our next-generation hydrogen electric engines. Working across Hydrogen, Propulsion and Integration divisions, they solve technical problems and help decarbonize aviation by finding solutions for electric propulsion, hydrogen storage, fuel cell technology, power distribution, thermal management and more.
Requirements
As an Aerospace System Software Controls Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing and developing software control systems for aerospace applications. Your role will involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team to create reliable and efficient control systems for aircraft and spacecraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and certify software control systems for aerospace applications, adhering to industry standards including DO-178C, DO-331, and DO-330.
- Integrate software with hardware components in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Create and implement control algorithms, signal processing, and data analysis methodologies.
- Ensure all control systems comply with aerospace safety regulations and standards.
- Diagnose and rectify issues within existing control systems.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in aerospace engineering and control systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong background in software development for control systems, with experience in the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Solid understanding of control theory, signal processing, and system dynamics.
- Experience with real-time operating systems and embedded software.
- Exceptional problem-solving, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with DO-178C, DO-331, and DO-330 standards for aerospace software development and model-based design.
- Familiarity with aerospace certification processes.
- Experience in aerospace embedded control systems development.

Pay Transparency Statement
The wage scale or salary range for this position is between $ 90,000 - $150,000. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:
- Bonus : Annual discretionary bonuses.
- Equity : Ability to exercise company stock options
- Retirement : Eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) Plan, with up to a 4% matching
- Health Insurance : Employer covers up to 80% of the employee's monthly premiums on medical, dental, and vision.
- Life Insurance : Basic Life/AD&D of up to $50,000 and the option to add on Supplemental Coverage.
- Short Disability : Up to 60% of your earnings for up to a period of 24 weeks.
- Long-Term Disability : If your disability extends beyond 180 days, LTD Coverage for up to 60% of your earnings.
- Paid Time Off : Eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours per year (15 days) and may borrow up to 40 hours (5 days).
- Sick Time : Eligible employees may accrue up to 40 hours, per year (5 days)
- Paid Holidays : 12 observed holidays, per calendar year.
