Our company is seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate must be available to work 2nd or 3rd shift. This role reports directly to the Quality Engineer and is integral to maintaining the high standards of our manufacturing processes. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting, testing, measuring, and sampling our manufactured goods to ensure adherence to established quality standards. Non-conforming products will be identified and segregated to a quarantine area. This role requires a keen eye for detail, proficiency in using precision measuring equipment, and the ability to communicate effectively with the production team.
Responsibilities
- Perform first piece inspection approvals and re-start inspections, ensuring all critical characteristics and visual requirements meet customer specifications.
- Use precise measuring equipment to perform dimensional analysis of parts.
- Complete in-process and final audit inspections per established work instructions and procedures, documenting results in the IQMS system.
- Work closely with production team members to ensure machines are running efficiently to established processing targets.
- Identify and segregate non-conformances using established non-conformance procedure, implementing containment measures to prevent escapes.
- Perform incoming inspection duties of components and other raw materials.
- File quality documents.
- Provide guidance to production personnel on the use of visual aids and work instructions.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Quality Manager/Quality Engineer.
Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent.
- Experience in quality control/quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Plastic injection molding experience preferred.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, and basic math skills.
- Experience with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, and other devices.
- Basic knowledge of SPC and blueprint interpretation.
- General computer skills.
