LaSalle Network has partnered with a dynamic and innovative construction company located in the Northwestern Chicago suburbs by hiring a Communications Specialist. As a Communications Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing communication strategies. This is a writing-intensive position, where you will be responsible for crafting compelling and effective internal and external communications, managing media relations, creating impactful press releases and developing engaging content to enhance the brand presence.
Communications Specialist Responsibilities:
Develop and implement internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged
Create and edit content for internal newsletters, announcements and other communication channels
Collaborate with various departments to gather information and ensure accurate representation of company updates
Craft external communications, including but not limited to, customer communications, business updates and partnership announcements
Maintain consistent messaging and branding across all external communication channels
Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure their communications remain relevant and impactful
Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers
Proactively pitch stories and secure media coverage to enhance brand visibility
Act as a spokesperson for the company and handle media inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
Draft compelling and concise press releases for product launches, company milestones and other key announcements
Coordinate the distribution of press releases and manage relationships with press release distribution platforms
Create engaging content for various platforms, including website, social media and marketing collateral
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop content that aligns with brand messaging and objectives
Monitor content performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
Communications Specialist Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
Proven experience in a communications role, preferably within a corporate environment
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
Strong understanding of media relations and experience interacting with journalists
Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
