SummaryUnder the supervision of theDirector, Chairman, Manager, or Chief, the Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound imaging procedures and related techniques resulting in the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Follows professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.EducationGraduate of, or within six months ofgraduation, a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Two year course in a patient care related allied health field prior to Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Education preferred.Certification, Registration & LicensureRegistration required: CurrentAmerican Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (US) or registry eligible OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (S) or eligible.Certification required: CurrentAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association.Licensure required: Licensedand Certified by the NH Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation TherapyCertification required toobtain: ARDMS required within 2 years of hire.ResponsibilitiesPerforms Ultrasound, diagnostic, ortherapeutic procedures in accordance and within the scope of practice and departmental standards.Assesses pertinent information,prepares and educates patient for procedures and expectations.Completes documentation of patientcare and procedure.Demonstrates proficiency inutilization of the hospital and departmental information, technology systemsand equipment operations.Maintains a level of productivity,adaptability, flexibility and timeliness in managing workload andprocesses required to meet patientcare and department needs.Adheres to department policy andprocedures and practices modality specific safety protocols.Actively engages in departmentalmeetings, modality meetings and committee initiatives.Completes hospital, departmental, andprofessional requirements.Participates in assignments, dutiesand responsibilities for continuous improvement in alignment with management and organizational goals Physical and Work RequirementsThe physical demands andcharacteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those that will be encountered by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be madeto enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The Dictionary of OccupationalTitles Material Handling Classification is LIGHT. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne contaminants, chemotherapeutic agents, electrical hazards - shock, non-weather related heat or cold, slippery surfaces, toxic or caustic chemicals, and variable weather conditions.The noise level in the workenvironment is usually moderate.

Shift: Friday through Sunday, 6:30PM to 7:00AM
