Job description
An award winning Surgical Center is searching for a strong, experienced Director of Nursing to lead this outstanding facility in Sunny Southern California.
The Surgery Center Nurse Director will join an amazing Ambulatory Surgery Center that has been recognized as one of California's best outpatient centers. The Surgery Center Nurse Director will directly work with to the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer. As the centers Director of Nursing, this individual will provide guidance and coordination of all nursing services. Some of these Nursing responsibilities include pre-operative and post-operative care, circulating in the operating room, and handling administrative tasks.
This person will be supported by the Manager of Preoperative Services, a CNOR Operating Room Nurse Manager, as well as a tenured and experienced team of Surgery Charge RNs.
The energy in this 7-OR Surgical Services Unit can only be described as a team-environment, which makes the support that everyone offers that much more important. Perioperative Services has earned great distinction for its General Surgery services line, and the new Nurse Director will have the opportunity to manage two programs.
The Surgical Services Nurse Director is expected to have knowledge on the principles and practices of Perioperative Nursing and Patient Care. The Director will be responsible for serving as a role model, initiator in problem-solving, decision-making processes, delegating, and communicating information to the nursing staff. The Surgical Services Nurse Director will develop clear performance expectations and resolve performance problems. In addition to these aspects, the Director will also help develop and maintain the departmental budget, as well as regulatory compliance.
