The research in Molecular Biology focuses on understanding mechanisms that control normal and abnormal cell growth and differentiation during development and disease. 

Job Summary

The Cleaver Lab is seeking a motivated Research Technician I. The Cleaver lab is currently working to understand how organs and tissues develop, with a focus on blood vessels. The ideal candidate would be someone with basic knowledge of molecular and cellular biology, who is willing to learn and work as a team with students and postdoctoral fellows. Applicant will be tasked with assisting daily experiments, which will include genotyping mice, tissue histology, antibody staining, microscopy, lab management, and more. We are seeking motivated individuals to engage in the research and help move lab goals forward. Good communication and documentation skills are a must.

Experience and Education

• Completion of two (2) years of college or specialized training in histology, medical technology, or relevant field and one (1) year experience as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent.
• High school graduation including courses in basic sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, etc., and three (3) years of laboratory experience including two years as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent.

Job Duties

• Assists in conducting experiments and working on research problems in such fields as physiology, bacteriology, tissue culture, chemistry and other related fields by performing basic, routine, and least complex procedures as prescribed by supervisor.
• Assembles and/or operates various laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Records resulting data in accordance with established methods.
• Confers with supervisor concerning results obtained and modifies procedures in accordance with instruction of supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
