Helpdesk Manager

Job Description:

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a Helpdesk Manager to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by overseeing the Helpdesk and it’s six technicians. The Helpdesk Manager is a driven, organized, and energetic individual looking to make an impact. This person needs the ability to manage a team of IT professionals and is technology savvy enough to hop in and roll his/her sleeves up to assist. The HD Manager needs the ability to make deliver alternative solutions after evaluations as well as represent Marian University in a positive and professional way to diverse populations. This person works extremely close with the Marian University CIO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Manages Freshworks Ticketing system including ticket assignment and queue
  • Works closely with CIO on Mission critical projects
  • Provides the CIO with usage stats, inventory counts, and monthly printing numbers
  • Coordinates with CIO to process Purchase Orders and various product purchases as needed
  • Manages the budget segment related to laptop/iPad/Inventory purchases
  • Manages the iPhone program
  • Leads by example
  • Strong A/V skills as well as strong A/V vendor skills
  • Ability to decide when to purchase new equipment or when to repair.
  • Desire to take a group of talented individuals name make them into a team

  • To be qualified for this position the candidate must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a technology related field, Management related field, or an equivalent experience.
  • Preference will be given to those with Marian University experience as a Faculty, Staff, or Student.
