Job description
Job Summary: The Executive Director of Legacy Impact is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the sustainability and overall growth of the nonprofit. Along with overseeing day-to-day operations, programming, and community engagement, the Executive Director is to ensure that the nonprofit fulfills its mission, vision, and strategic goals. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Implement and readdress the organization's strategic plan for fulfilling mission, vision, and goals.
Provide leadership, guidance and care for staff and volunteers in alignment with the organization's mission.
Organizational Management:
Oversee operations which include budgeting, financial management, fundraising, program development, and administration.
Manage staff and volunteers to ensure their professional development and alignment with organizational goals.
Fundraising and Resource Development:
Lead and support Board of Directors to raise funding in order to diversify revenue streams
Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and fundraising campaigns and events.
Seek out and secure funding opportunities to support the organization's mission and programs.
Community Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, donors, partner organizations, and government agencies.
Governance and Board Relations:
Collaborate with the Board of Directors, providing monthly updates, reports, and seeking their guidance and support.
Support the board in governance matters, such as strategic planning and policy development.
Program Development and Evaluation:
Oversee the development and execution of programs, ensuring they align with the organization's mission and are effective in achieving their intended outcomes.
Monitor and evaluate program success, making necessary adjustments for improvement.
Financial Management:
Manage the organization's budget, financial health, and financial sustainability plan.
Legal and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including nonprofit reporting requirements, tax obligations, and ethical standards.
Communication and Public Relations:
Promote the organization's mission and impact through effective communication strategies, including marketing, public relations, and social media.
Engage with the community and build a positive public image for the organization through networking and community events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Leadership experience in the nonprofit sector of at least two years
Conversational proficiency in Spanish
Proficient in Microsoft office suite
Strong writing skills
Experience with business and or nonprofit budgeting and finance
Public speaking, communication and interpersonal skills
Project management. Must be able to manage multiple projects over different timelines simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate with a diverse team
Knowledge of nonprofit governance and fundraising
Passion for the organization's mission and values
