The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

We are currently seeking an innovative, disciplined, and results-oriented VP & Senior Director, Technology Architecture. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the strategist will work across a broad set of business and technology stakeholders to formulate strategies with a specific focus on architecture modernization, business enablement, application rationalization & simplification, reuse, and cost optimization.

We are seeking an experienced architecture executive to drive end-to-end solution architecture for our complex, global business. In this role, you will work across global product teams to architect solutions to deliver on our business priorities and initiatives. You will work with senior leaders across the technology and business organizations to identify initiatives with high impact which drive the organization forward. This role is expected to be an energetic, dynamic, and innovative leader and influencer, acting as an avid promoter of technology modernization and process improvement to enhance productivity and performance of the organization. The VP, Architecture is a high-level, seasoned, technical individual, recognized as an expert both internally and externally. This leader will represent GRS Technology in the broader community and serve as a de facto ambassador for the organization with a strong, well-maintained network.

About the role:

• Executive thought leader that will participate in c-suite discussions, drive ideation across GRS Techs platforms, segments, and global focus areas.
• Lead global team of architects to establish the vision and execute North Star architectures across our global domains and segments.
• Develop multi-year roadmaps and work with architects and product teams to translate roadmaps into tactical engineering blueprints.
• As a member of the Federated Enterprise Architecture Team, collaborate with cross-LM team to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) function to drive business-aligned outcomes.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, software engineering, data engineering and data science to define target architectures, patterns, and automation processes.
• Lead, inspire, coach and mentor the team of enterprise, platform, and portfolio architects while growing their leadership and technical skills.
• Develop and promote enterprise architecture principles, designs, and services and be able to differentiate regional vs. global opportunities.
• Build trusting relationships with key business stakeholders to align/influence business and IT architecture.
• Influences senior leaders and all levels of business and IT staff on all areas of the architecture, including policies, standards, strategies, and governance.
• Translate company business strategy into concrete solutions, design and execute an IT systems architecture blueprint to support that strategy.
• Provide technical leadership while developing and maintaining relationships with Product Managers, Solution Engineers, and Technical Architects.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in technical discipline or related experience.
• Hands on software development experience with delivering applications at scale.
• More than 15 years in a technical leadership role required. Global leadership preferred.
• Enterprise architecture skills including business, application, data, and infrastructure.
• Experience in setting strategic technology direction andarchitecture visionencompassing an enterprise view across alarge portfolio of capabilities.
• Ability to translate short and long-range strategic plans for enterprise-wide architecture into design and implementation of current and future applications.
• Extensive experience in high-level systems planning, design, development, maintenance and troubleshooting with a track record of accomplishment in large, complex legacy technology that has successfully migrated to modern cloud native technology.
• In-depth knowledge of the insurance business, specifically commercial and specialty insurance in a global market is preferred.
• Highly developed negotiation, facilitation, influencing and communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of IT Total Cost of Ownership.
• Industry contacts and participation in software development and open-source communities.
• Experience with Agile & DevOps methodologies, tools, and measurement practices.
• Expertise in providing mentorship to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex enterprise-wide programs.
