Our client, a growing manufacturing company backed by private equity, is seeking a skilled Cost Controller to join the finance team in a contract capacity. As a key player in the organization, you will have the opportunity to support the strategic initiatives and contribute to the continued success of the business. This role is on-site at the client’s locations in Chandler, Arizona.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive analysis of product costs, ensuring accuracy and identifying areas for cost optimization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for informed decision-making.

- Implement cost control measures to enhance overall profitability.

- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop accurate and competitive sales quotes.

- Analyze market trends and competitor pricing strategies to guide pricing decisions.

- Monitor pricing performance and recommend adjustments as necessary.

- Maintain and update cost accounting records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to cost analysis.

- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.

- Partner with various business units to understand their financial needs and provide cost-related insights.

- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and other departments to streamline processes and improve cost efficiency.

- Act as a key liaison between finance and other functional areas.

- Assist in the development of financial forecasts and budgets, with a focus on cost-related projections.

- Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and provide relevant commentary.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

- Proven experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Previous experience with sales quoting, pricing strategies, and product cost analysis.

- Familiarity with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
