Job description
Central Maine Eye Surgery Center is looking for a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team located in Lewiston, ME.
About Central Maine Eye Surgery Center Central Maine Eye Care specializes in medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases, while also providing routine vision care. Dr. Lonsdale, Dr. Daniels, and Dr. Avery provide excellent and compassionate care to our patients and we are proud to serve the Lewiston community.
About the Opportunity Our operating hours are Monday through Friday with
no nights, weekends, or true “on-call.” The ideal candidate for this role would be available to be scheduled for shifts to cover throughout the month. We would also call for short-notice coverage, but there would be no obligation to fill those shifts.
This position works primarily pre and post-op (PACU).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Patient preparation to include review of medical history, obtaining appropriate consents, taking vitals, starting IVs, administering medications, and setting up appropriate monitors
- Completing pre- and post-procedure physician orders
- Patient and family education for discharge care
- Conducts pre- and post-procedure telephone interviews
About the Candidate Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a diploma, Associates degree, or higher
- Active, unencumbered license in the state of Maine or a compact state
- Current ACLS and BLS, or ability to obtain upon hire
- Proficient with Electronic Medical Reports, typing, and other general computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), acute care pre-op or PACU unit, or other critical care experience is strongly preferred.
