Job Summary:
Working under the general supervision of the Senior Manager, Distributed Server Group Operations relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, the Senior Systems Administrator DSG provides effective project management in addition to installing and maintaining systems and services hosted within the corporate infrastructure. The Sr SA role requires the ability to utilize systems analysis techniques to resolve issues and to design solutions for the business systems or infrastructure. In addition, the Sr SA will make recommendations for new products, technologies, and services to enhance user productivity, network and system performance, and data security.
Primary Job Duties:
- Uses systems analysis techniques to resolve infrastructure issues and to design solutions.
- Addresses support tickets forwarded by the Helpdesk as an escalation.
- Manage and maintain Brocade SAN fabric , IBM FS Series, SAN Volume Controller (SVC)
and NetApp storage technologies, with the capability to design and architect including
virtual storage infrastructure. - Manages all facets of an enterprise Windows Server environment. Supports interaction
and connectivity to adjacent systems. - Develops and applies best practices and procedures in addition to producing and
maintaining detailed documentation and workflows. - Through lifecycle initiatives, maintains and updates hardware and software platforms that
comprise the infrastructure, performance tune systems, and upgrades/migrates assets. - Manage and maintain virtual and hyper-converged technologies.
- Takes the initiative when alerts and/or failures occur to troubleshoot and isolate the source
of issues while leveraging team resources in this effort. - Works with team members as well as other support and development groups by assistingwhen needed, keeping associated parties up to date on the status of projects and events,
and the transfer of knowledge amongst peers.
- Manages and acts as the technical lead on assigned projects while delivering quality solutions, on
time, and within budget, while factoring in future growth when proposing solutions. - Authors a project plan, develops a schedule and creates documentation and messaging
that will be sent out to the business. - Makes sound decisions based on the information available. Remains objective to the ideas
or recommendations of peers and open to taking a different approach. Takes ownership
and assumes responsibility for decisions made in relation to work assignments. - Works closely with other support, development, QA, and business teams to provide
complete solutions that meet the needs of all parties.
- Designs and implements hardware and software solutions for server infrastructure with a primary
focus on, but not limited to, Microsoft technologies. - Look for new products, technologies, and methods to enhance or improve the
infrastructure. - Understands work processes and maintains the documentation that supports them.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of the security policies that apply to this position and
work performed within the infrastructure. - Determines and documents baseline performance of existing systems. Monitors these
systems to identify and resolve performance issues. - Identifies vulnerabilities within the infrastructure and provides recommendations for
remediation.
- Works with a team of high-level engineers from various platforms to design/architect, maintain,
and support a Disaster Recovery solution.

Degree requirements
Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required competencies
- Administration of Storage Infrastructure, preferred knowledge of NETAPP, IBM FS/SVC and
Brocade SAN fabrics - Understanding and administration of a VMWare ESX environment
- Understanding and administration of Nutanix
- Administration of Microsoft SCCM and SCOM platforms
- Administration of Windows server including Active Directory, OS installation, and troubleshooting
- Microsoft DFS/GPO/DNS/FTP/DHCP/IIS services implementation and troubleshooting
- Understanding of project management processes with the ability to author and manage projects
when necessary. - Understanding of a Citrix environment
- Understanding of ITIL
- Ability to work in a fast-paced organization by prioritizing workloads to meet delivery dates.
- Methodical with the ability to follow established policies, processes, and security standards.
- Knowledge in Zerto or any related software with DR capabilities
Additional preferred competencies or preferred qualifications, if any:
- SAN/Storage based data replication technologies to support system refreshes and disaster
recovery, namely with IBM FS, SVC and NetApp technologies. - Microsoft, VMWare Certifications
- Advanced Server knowledge such as Microsoft Clustering
- PowerShell scripting
- Commvault and Veritas NetBackup technologies
