Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Licensed Creative Art Therapist to join our team at our Sutphin Boulevard location in Queens, NY.
POSITION SUMMARY The Art Therapist enlists and explores client's ability to express themselves through art.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Facilitate art therapy groups for all clients
• Organize client art exhibits in-house and at the graduation/celebration ceremony
• Requisition and submit orders to the Coordinator of Therapeutic Recreation
• Maintains inventory of art supplies as well as order
• Coordinate with case manager to address issues through art therapy
• Coordinates the decorating of the facility for all holidays and other important events/dates
• Provide documentation in client's charts
• Provide monthly report to supervisor
• Assists in special projects as required
• Supports the goals, objectives and mission statement set forth by the Board of Directors
and the administration of the facility
• Attends all mandatory in-service programs including fire safety, infection control, clinical
HIV/AIDS manifestations, transmission, prevention, psychosocial issues, confidentiality
and client's rights
QUALIFICATIONS: • Master's Degree in Art Therapy, required
• Current license to practice as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) in New York
State
• Prior experience relevant to the area of clinical practice preferred
• Minimum of two years' experience working with substance abuse, HIV/AIDS or related
special population
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION: Licensed Creative Arts Therapist
Salary Range: $44,850 - $51,675
