Your Role With Us:

Imaging Scheduling Coordinator I

In this role, your exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate in a positive, professional manner are needed to provide support to scheduling imaging appointments and coordinating patient flow.

Primary Functions:

• Responds to high volume of inbound calls and makes outbound calls as required to coordinate patient care for MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, CT, Cardio Vascular Non-Invasive Services (CVNIS), Pulmonary Lab, Breast Imaging and Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation exams within the hospital system.
• Maintains flow of communication by answering incoming calls and assisting patients, families and community providers over the phone.
• Meets call center metrics/productivity; handled calls, scheduled appointments, abandoned call rate and established service level.
• Coordinates the daily schedules within the hospital system, managing the flow of patient care.
• Accurately documents and verifies referral information in EPIC to ensure financial reimbursement for services rendered.
• Is knowledgeable in the pre-procedure preparation requirements and communicates instructions accurately to community provider offices and/or patient.
• Accurately transcribes orders received from community providers. Verifies accuracy of order based on compliance and Hospital Radiology protocols. Request any additional information needed to adequately support diagnosis and follow up to match DX, reason for exam and exam type

• Accurately obtain insurance verification for registration and pre-authorization purposes. Accurately pre-register patients as well as being able to identify payer authorization requirement.

Background/Expertise:

• GED, high school graduate or above required.
• Minimum of one (1) year customer service experience. Call Center preferred.
• CHAA or other industry equivalent certification preferred
• Keyboarding at 50 wpm.
• Previous experience with EPIC and Cadence preferred
• Moderate understanding of Medical Terminology and billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
