OVERVIEW :

The University of St. Thomas has opportunities to join the self-operated Dining Services team as a Kitchen Assistant/Food Service Worker on either the Minneapolis or St. Paul campus.

• Full Time, 12 months out of the year
• Work directly for the university, not a food service company
• Pay is $18.00/hr

Kitchen Asistant/Food Service Worker Duties Include:

• Provide assistance in the food preparation of meals in back-of-house or front-of-house operations
• Interact with customers and prepare customized, made-to-order food and menu items in a high-volume environment
• Prep food throughout shift and assist all culinary staff in completing prep sheet
• Set up/close down open line workstation for service
• Follow ServSafe food handling guidelines and maintain a clean work station

QUALIFICATIONS :

• The Kitchen Assistant/Food Service Worker needs to have at least six months of experience in short order food preparation and/or volume cooking.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check is a condition of employment for all Dining Services positions.
• Some positions within Dining Services require driving a campus vehicle. If you are offered a position that requires driving a campus vehicle, a driving check would be conducted as a condition of hire.

These positions work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights and weekends.
