Sr. Buyer
A global manufacturer of HVAC systems is seeking a Sr. Buyer to join the team at their high-tech facility in Rochester, NH. If you are a solid negotiator with at least eight years of experience, then don’t miss this excellent direct hire role!
Responsibilities of the Sr. Buyer
- Lead and drive execution of sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain strategies in a collaborative, team-based environment to achieve both tactical and strategic goals
- Influence, lead, and drive project implementation of sourcing strategies
- Work with key project development teams to ensure that the supply base is in place to allow projects to occur on time and within budgeted parameters
- Negotiate and execute strategic sourcing agreements for assigned commodities to drive cost, quality, delivery, and service improvements across multiple departments and sites
- Manage key strategic suppliers and categories of spend, i.e., participating in development of key new products, visiting suppliers, evaluating supplier performance, and meeting with suppliers to address concerns
- Use analytical and qualitative methods to analyze market commodities and product data
- Work with new product development teams to ensure sourcing decisions achieve overall commodity objectives
- Collaborate across subsidiaries in identifying leverage and supply chain efficiencies
Qualifications of the Sr. Buyer
- 8-10 years’ direct experience in global purchasing, sourcing, contract management, developing supply chains, and supply side of new product development/commercialization preferred
- Proven ability to utilize an integrated ERP system, lean manufacturing concepts
