Azure/SQL Data Base Administrator (DBA)

As a DBA, you will play a crucial role in implementing, configuring, and maintaining critical SQL and Azure databases, ensuring high levels of availability and security. Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and maintain SQL and Azure database solutions in line with organizational requirements and best practices.
- Perform essential database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure database security and compliance with data privacy regulations by implementing access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
- Monitor database performance and optimize query execution, indexing, and resource utilization for optimal system performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business needs and integrate with other systems and applications.
- Implement and manage database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions to ensure continuous operation and disaster recovery.
- Conduct regular database health checks, capacity planning, and upgrade/migration activities to maintain system reliability and stability.
- Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures for database administration tasks and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in database management, cloud computing, and data security.
- Provide technical support and guidance to developers, analysts, and other stakeholders on database-related issues and projects.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator focusing on SQL and Azure technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and related technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL programming, T-SQL scripting, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Active Directory.
- Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling concepts.
- Experience with database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with database security best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA: SQL Database Administration or Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus.
