Job Purpose

We are seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst, Data Scien ce to join National Grid’s Finance data and reporting office team (FDRO). The FDRO is responsible for financial data and financial reporting across the breath of National Grid Finance. Day to day you will lead all aspects of the design, development, and delivery of database, business intelligence, data warehouse, and data integration solutions. As Senior Quantitative Analyst, you will provide technical knowledge and leadership guidance during design, development, and delivery of key analytical initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

A senior quantitative analyst, data science is accountable for developing a deep understanding of the broader National Grid data landscape which can be translated towards key requirements for bringing this data together into meaningful data models which allow for deep business analytics and reporting. They are also accountable for contributing to the development of the National Grid enterprise data model.

Qualifications

• Lead technical teams in designing and developing data solutions.

• Perform data modeling design and development for data solutions, including relational and analytical models.

• Deep understanding of data warehouse and data lake concepts, approaches and standards.

• Perform data integration (ETL/ELT) design and development for data solutions, including relational and analytical models.

• Experience with traditional and non-traditional forms of analytical data design (Kimbal, Inmon, etc.)

• Expert level knowledge of industry leading ETL/ELT tools such as SAP Data Services, Matillion.

• Audit and review performance metrics for new and existing data integration solutions and database queries to ensure both adherence to service level agreements and system health.

• Arbitrate between batch processing, including nightly and near-real-time data processing and real time data pipelines depending on the business problem encountered.

• Domain knowledge in the area of finance data is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with six years of related experience, or master’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least 4 years of related experience required.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with relational databases, ETL, and data warehouse required.

• Experience with one or more of the following required:

• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

• Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

• Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

Salary

$115k - $135k a year in Waltham, MA.

$123k - $145k a year in Brooklyn, NY.
