Job description
Capitol House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is hiring for a full-time or part-time Maintenance Technician!
The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of duties involved in the routine preventative maintenance of nursing home. Work hours are 10a -6p, 11a -7p or 12p-5p, Monday-Friday.
License / Certifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have 1-year maintenance experience in medical/hospital maintenance.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables
- Knowledge and some experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, painting, fire suppression systems, transportation equipment, and other hospital equipment.
- Nursing home experience a plus.
Experience / Skills:
- Performs a variety of duties in support of interior and exterior building maintenance
- Assists with repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, fire suppression systems, medical equipment, transportation equipment, and any other hospital equipment as needed.
- Performs preventative maintenance completing monthly maintenance logs
- Performs equipment assembly and troubleshooting as required.
- Assists with routine testing of equipment, alarms, safety systems and other items required to promote a safe environment.
- Supports facilities manager in environmental and safety support activities
- Maintains inventories and orders maintenance supplies.
- Complete exterior building maintenance
- Moves furniture and equipment as needed.
