Associate Director, Global Strategic Sourcing (R&D)
This is what You will do:
You will play a pivotal role in expanding our Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) R&D team to support Company’s Global Portfolio in new modalities of intervention and therapeutic areas and help deliver important medicines to our patients. The GSS R&D organization is on a progressive path to meet the constantly evolving needs of the business. We seek candidates with a procurement/ strategic sourcing or science & operations background to contribute to our team.
Through our “Growth Through Innovation” program, you will help to drive the success of our R&D organization while ensuring we can meet our business goal of delivering pivotal medicines to patients suffering from rare disease to 100 countries worldwide. In this role, you will develop & lead category strategies in support of Central and Specialty Labs. You will partner and advise key stakeholders on supply market dynamics and practices which improve value, minimize risk, and ensure quality & cost efficiency. Your primary focus will be helping to establish a best practices Category Management and Strategic Sourcing program for Central and Specialty Labs actively supporting the development of a global network of preferred and strategic suppliers. Strategic vision and tactical execution are key to success. The range for this position is 145 - 175k.
You will be responsible for: - Develop and execute clear category management, strategic sourcing, and procurement strategies
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective alignment that supports business requirements while appropriately managing quality, speed, cost, risk and ease-of-use.
- Support and implement strategy for optimizing processes, finding ways to streamline sourcing activities and drive continuous process improvement.
- Be knowledgeable in market trends, benchmarks, and best practices across categories under management. Use this knowledge to optimize results and drive a high standard of excellence.
- Lead sourcing events, initiate and negotiate contracts and agreements for commercial terms.
- Develop and foster a supplier experience that nurtures the perception of Company as a “customer of choice.”
You will need to have:
- 7+ years Bio-Pharma industry experience with knowledge of strategic sourcing and category management
- Exceptional negotiation skills; you are a tenacious problem-solver with a focus on building mutually beneficial relationships
- Excellent communication and ability to influence others
- The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.
