Summer Camp Counselor

Job description

Summary (Essential Functions): Lead camp group for members' and guests' children to ensure a quality experience for the family. This is a seasonal position from May to August.

Details:

• Greet children and parents warmly
• Communicate with parents regarding their child at drop-off and pick-up and address any concerns
• Assist with bathroom monitoring, meals, and snacks
• Plan age-appropriate activities for the children
• Complete opening and closing duties to ensure a clean and safe work area
• Play games with children, supervise activities, and monitor the interactions between children
• Discipline using verbal redirection, physical removal, and time out as appropriate
• Assist with cleaning and disinfecting the camp areas and equipment
• Exhibit proper phone etiquette and personal interactions to meet Club standards
• Support the contract staff and professional staff from other departments when they are providing lessons
• Attend staff meetings
• Perform other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Youth Activities Coordinator

Qualifications: Qualified candidates will be reliable, professional, and able to successfully work in a team environment. Candidates will have effective listening and communication skills and a strong desire to provide excellent service. All candidates will work to ensure the fulfillment of the Club's mission to provide a warm and friendly environment for our members and guests, through commitment and dedication with a personal touch. Preferred candidates will have at least 1 years of college and 6 months related experience, and/or CPR certifications.
