Position Description :
The Department of Engineering Technology is seeking applicants to fill a non tenure-line position at the rank of Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor of Instruction to teach in the newly online Master of Science program in Engineering Management at Texas State University. Applicants with expertise in all areas related to engineering management, industrial engineering, and engineering technology are invited to apply, with particular consideration given to candidates with past online teaching experience in an engineering or industry management discipline. This position is a non-tenure-line, nine-month faculty of instruction position with a renewable five-year contract subject to annual reappointment review. This position is remote-work eligible.The individual selected for this position will be expected to teach masters level and some undergraduate courses, as departmental needs require. Other responsibilities may include service to the department and the university, industry outreach, mentoring graduate students and general academic and career advising and assistance. This position is subject to the availability of funds.
Required Qualifications:
For all ranks
- An earned doctoral degree in an engineering or management (with an industrial focus) discipline.
- An undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution, or a closely related field from a similarly accredited institution.
- Excellent oral and written English language skills
For the rank of Associate Professor of Instruction, in addition to those required above: - A demonstrated record of excellent teaching abilities
- A minimum of five years of teaching experience at the university level.
For the rank of Professor of Instruction, in addition to those required above: - A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at the university level.
- A demonstrated record of leadership or significant contributions in teaching and instructional activities
The successful applicant will be offered the appropriate rank and title based on the established standards of the university and the Department of Engineering Technology.
Preferred Qualifications: - Industry experience in engineering management, engineering or engineering technology.
- A record of online teaching experience in engineering and/or management courses.
- Professional certification and/or licensure in a related discipline.
