Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Club in Golden, Colorado is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the Head Golf Professional, the position assists in the oversight of all aspects of the golf operations for the club, including the day-to-day responsibilities and procedures in managing daily play, tee times, events, golf course operation, and player development. Works closely with fellow golf employees by providing support, promoting the Club’s vision, and promoting the game of golf with an emphasis on providing industry-leading customer service. These positions are eligible for commissions on Golf Shop sales, clubfitting, lesson, and instruction revenue, coverage of PGA dues, and receive a 50% employee meal discount. Directly responsible for areas of the operation including, but not limited to, clubfitting, special orders, player development and golf programming, with an emphasis on organization and maximizing sales, participation, and yield. Responsible for supervising specific parts of the golf operation including but not limited to Part Time Level II employees, Seasonal Assistant Golf Professionals and Cart & Range Leads. May teach limited private and group lessons, as well as player development programs as available. Directly responsible for areas of the operation including, but not limited to, tournament operations and group golf, management and creation of daily tee sheets and facility calendars, with emphasis on organization and maximizing participation and yield. Responsible for supervising specific parts of the golf operation including but not limited to Guest Services, Starters and Player Assistants. May teach limited private and group lessons, as well as player development programs as available.

Duties:
• Ensures the financial and operational performance of the Player Development Program including registrations, cancellations, and collection of fees.
• In collaboration with Head Professional and Lead Assistant Professional, develop instructional programming. This includes private and group instruction, prepares class schedules and descriptions. Includes publication, staffing and coordination of classes/events.
• Responsible for organizing activities for Women’s 9/18-hole leagues, Player Development Leagues and Junior Programming including but not limited to: Junior Camps, Operation 36 (Adult & Junior), PGA Junior League, PGA Family Golf, PGA Hope and Couples Golf.
• Responsible for instructing private, junior and group instructions, clinics, and schools. Max 20 hours weekly combined with Clubfitting for Player Development Lead, max 10 hours weekly for Golf & Tournament Operations Lead.
• Assists Head Golf Professional with implementation of the promotional plan, and creation of marketing content to include but not limited to: website development, printed material and signage, and email marketing campaigns.
• Responsible for purchase, maintenance and security of club fitting systems and equipment, simulator area and launch monitor(s).
• Responsible for scheduling and coordinating with brand representatives single or multi-vendor demo/fitting days.
• Coordinates with Head Golf Professional to create club fitting marketing materials and distribution channels to promote club fitting sales.
• Promotes club fitting opportunities to students in all Player Development programs.
• Responsible for training certified club fitters and for providing club fitting services. Max 16 hours combined with Instruction.
• In collaboration with Merchandise Coordinator, enhance special order process, tracking, in-stock inventory, customer receipt and management of all golf equipment.
• Responsible for ensuring the proper storage, safety, and cleaning of golf equipment; may include golf cart fleet and club rentals.
• Assists Head Professional in the development of annual planning calendar for tournaments/groups, turf care, player development, golf instruction, club fitting, outside leagues, high school teams and special events.
• Assist Head Professional with the financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and golf services.
• Assist in the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all department revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
• Assists Head Golf Professional with presentations and public relations activities; serves as City’s golf representative as required. Assumes the duties of the Head Golf Professional in his/her absence.
• Work closely with all departments to achieve the goals and objectives of the facility, including, but not limited to Assistant Professionals, Golf Shop Manager and Restaurant General Manager.
• Along with the Head Professional, maintain a working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and provide advice on course playability and golf course set up.
• Along with Head Professional, lead in the development of other Assistant Golf Professionals within the PGA’s Golf Management Program.
• Responsible for all tournament activities, including booking and administration of daily, corporate, charitable, and special events. Manages golf shop and guest services coverage and other areas as assigned during events.
• Responsible for creation of daily tee sheets, including tournaments, leagues, and maintenance.
• Responsible for ensuring the proper storage, safety, and cleaning of golf equipment; may include golf cart fleet and club rentals.
• Assists Head Professional in the development of annual planning calendar for tournaments/groups, turf care, player development, golf instruction, club fitting, outside leagues, high school teams and special events.
• Assists Head Golf Professional with implementation of the marketing plan, media buy and creation of content and marketing content to include but not limited to: website development, the club’s app, print/TV/radio ads, all digital media (on/off course), social media, CRM campaigns, printed material and signage, and email marketing campaigns.
• Assist Head Professional with the financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and golf services.
• Assist in the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all department revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
• Assists Head Golf Professional with presentations and public relations activities; serves as City’s golf representative as required. Assumes the duties of the Head Golf Professional in his/her absence.
• Work closely with all departments to achieve the goals and objectives of the facility, including, but not limited to Assistant Professionals, Golf Shop Operations Manager and Restaurant General Manager.
• Along with the Head Professional, maintain a working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and provide advice on course playability and golf course set up.
• Along with Head Professional, lead in the development of other Assistant Golf Professionals within the PGA’s Golf Professional Program.
• May assist in organizing activities for Tournament Club league, Women’s 9/18-hole leagues, Player Development Leagues and Junior Programs including Operation 36 and PGA Junior League.
• May assist in the development of instructional programs. This includes private and group instruction, prepares class schedules and descriptions.
• Responsible for daily cash reports and bank deposits at the end of each shift. Performs daily collection, deposit, and accounting procedures for golf course fees and charges in accordance with City policies and procedures.
• Coaches limited private and group lessons, as well as player development programs as available. Max 16 hours combined with Clubfitting for Player Development Lead, Max XX hours for Golf/Tournament Operations Lead.
• Liaison to the retail team, including the Merchandise Coordinator, assisting in inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, special orders, displays and sales.
• Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment.
• Adhere to, enforce, and implement policies and procedures of the facility as well as the City.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and evaluation of Golf Professional Staff, includingPart Time Level II, Seasonal professionals, and Cart & Range Leads. Plans, assigns, and directs work tasks, appraises performance, rewards, and disciplines staff members, addresses complaints, and resolves problems.
• Responsible for supervision and execution of clubfitting and player development experience, including, but not limited to promotion, communicating information and delegation of responsibilities to golf staff, training staff on the use of Golf Genius, Acuity, and EMS and ensuring all supplies are organized.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and evaluation of Guest Services Staff, including starters and player assistants. Plans, assigns, and directs work tasks, appraises performance, rewards, and disciplines staff members, addresses complaints, and resolves problems.
• Responsible for supervision and execution of tournament and group golf experience, including, but not limited to communicating tournament information and delegation of tournament responsibilities to golf staff, training staff on the use of Golf Genius, and ensuring all tournament supplies are organized.
• Provides leadership and vision to members of the golf division and City of Golden Parks & Recreation Department.
• Attend applicable meetings, including management and staff meetings, when requested.
• Set up regular written communication with Head Professional to include facility, programming, staff, and guest updates.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
Must possess a background in golf operations, including player development (group, private and junior golf instruction).
Minimum two years golf course experience with 2-years supervisory experience[SL1].
Must be PGA Member in good standing or currently enrolled and/or completed Level 2 of PGA Professional training program.
Must be computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office, POS, Golf Genius preferred.
Experience with clubfitting preferred (Player Development Lead only).
Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Valid drivers’ license with good driving record.
PGA Member or Level 2 Associate Professional preferred.
Current CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
Clubfitting certifications preferred (Player Development Lead only).

Compensation:
$59,923.00 – $83,892.00 per year.
