What You Will Do: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing the flow of components and information between Korry and the supply base. The team is responsible for aligning the suppliers’ schedules with demand, issuing PO’s to approved suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery of components, expediting deliveries, optimizing inventory levels, and assuring compliance to approved supplier list and agreement terms and conditions.
Primary Responsibilities: - Oversees the daily operations of the Purchasing department
- Manages production and NPI Buyers
- Develops KPI’s to monitor and improve Supplier and Buyer performance
- Executes supply chain management and business unit strategies
- Ensures effective communication between Purchasing department and other departments regarding all purchasing issues
- Escalates and resolves delivery delays from suppliers
- Develops and drives supplier performance improvement plans
- Develops and maintains supplier Kanban process, consignment and VMI programs
- Develops inventory strategies such as lot sizes, firm periods and delivery frequencies, develop and manage supplier plan-for-every part (PFEP)
- Contributes to the optimization of the MRP planning process
- Drives, manages, and supports cost reduction projects
- Escalates supplier management issues to Commodity Managers
- Drives procedure and process improvement
- Trains, mentors, and develops succession plans for key Buyers
- Monitors, manages and minimizes in-bound transportation costs
- Contributes to alternate sourcing strategies with SCM, as required
- Develops a reusable supplier packaging strategy, as required
- Maintains the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above
What You Must Have: Education Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
Experience 5-7 years of Purchasing, Operations, Planning or relevant experience, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Specialized Skills and Abilities Must possess strong communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
ERP/MRP experience required
Proficient with MS Suite
Physical Requirements: Frequent use of laptop, databases and other office equipment.
Work Environment: Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Salary Range Please note the typical hiring range is $120,000 - $145,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
