Join the Cleveland Clinic team where you will work next to talented caregivers and provide exceptional and highly ranked care to local, national and international patients who travel to the Cole Eye Institute. The Cole Eye Institute currently has more than 20 locations across the greater Cleveland and Akron areas with plans for future growth. The Cole Eye Institute is among the world's most advanced eye centers and is among the top in the nation. Cole Eye serves more than 330,000 patients annually - among the highest volumes in the nation. The Institute includes more than 140 staff physicians and researchers who diagnose, treat, and investigate all conditions of the eye, including macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

Our Certified Ophthalmic Assistants provide vision care under the supervision of a licensed ophthalmologist. We work together as a team to provide world class care for our patients. Our Cole Eye staff pride themselves on delivering specialized care to help patients preserve and refine their vision. There is always something new to learn with changes and advances in the field of ophthalmology.

Your primary duties will include:

*Performing routine screening tests.

*Documenting patient information in the patient medical record.

*Stocking, maintenance, and other related duties as assigned, including maintaining exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.

Our ideal caregiver is someone who:

*Uses communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.

*Is empathetic to the needs and concerns of patients

*Has a minimum of 1-year experience in ophthalmology or optical.

This is a high-quality chance for newly graduated or already skilled Ophthalmic Assistants to discover Cleveland Clinic's Ophthalmologic team and obtain hands-on experience in this gratifying unit. This field has many opportunities for advancement. You can begin your career as an ophthalmic assistant and through experience, education, and testing advance to a certified ophthalmic technician, then a certified ophthalmic medical technologist.
