Burial Beer Co is actively seeking a seasoned and dynamic leader for the vital role of Head of Hospitality. The Job
As a key member of the Strategy Leadership Team, the Head of Hospitality plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Company's vision through our retail operations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, this role is responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards in aesthetics, hospitality, and financial performance across all retail outlets.
What You'll Do
Vision
- Works within the Strategy Leadership team to develop Company vision, and the strategies to achieve them through our retail business outlets
- Collaborates with the Strategy Leadership team on establishing the standards of aesthetics and hospitality delivered by our teams ("Hospitality Standards") within all retail business outlets and their shops
- Collaborates with the Finance Leadership team on establishing the standards of financial performance for top and bottom lines ("Financial Standards") expected in our retail business outlets
- Responsible for establishing regular financial tools for tracking and managing Financial Standards weekly within all retail business outlets
- Responsible for maintaining accountability for the achievement of Hospitality Standards and Financial Standards with their retail leaders on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
Establish Strategies, Foster Tactics
- Develops menus and recipes with kitchen managers that facilitate Company vision and comply with Hospitality and Financial Standards
- Develops beverage offerings with bar program leaders that facilitate Company vision and comply with Hospitality and Financial Standards
- Develop service models to meet and achieve Hospitality Standards
- Develop training models to provide education on Hospitality Standards, food and beverage
- Collaborates with Brand Team on programming development
- Develops retail staffing maps, job scopes and shared responsibilities for delivering Hospitality Standards within the bounds of our Financial Standards
- Work closely with the HR department to ensure effective workforce development, people management, talent acquisition, and employee engagement across all retail locations
- Provides support and guidance to retail leaders for hiring and job assessment of their team members
- Develops strategies for each of the retail business outlet leaders to help them grow and build Hospitality Standard-achieving programming like tours, private events, public celebrations, and festivals
Build Hospitality Environment
- Assess performance of new retail outlet leaders and hire new leaders when needed
- Be a brand ambassador for the Company when Collaborators visit our retail business outlets during events
- Foster advantageous service contracts with retail vendors for the company
- Foster a system of regularly reviewing public feedback on customer experience with retail outlet leaders
- Foster a system of support for retail outlet leaders for hiring all retail team positions
- Foster a system of regular training of all retail outlet employees on things like hospitality, food, beverage and other elements of the Hospitality Standards
Who We're Looking For
- Significant experience in food and beverage industry
- Significant experience in management
- Must have experience with the operation of restaurants (kitchen management preferred)
- Proficient in beer, wine and cocktails (certifications desired)
- Financial experience managing service-based business budgets
- Event management experience a plus
- Must have high self-accountability for brand and aesthetic standards
- Must have a love of customer service
- Must be proficient at facilitating training

Compensation: Determined based on experience

Job Schedule: Typically M-F, 9a - 5p
