As a student physical therapist, part of your job description entails studying about and obtaining practical experience in the field while being supervised by certified physical therapists. A list of typical work duties and tasks is provided below:

Responsibilities: 

• Observe and assist professional physical therapists in a range of clinical settings. Observe how patients are treated, how treatments are administered, and how interdisciplinary teams work.
• Under the supervision of a certified physical therapist, interact with patients. This could entail gathering medical histories, and helping with patient evaluations.
• Assist Licensed physical therapists to create treatment plans for patients is part of the treatment planning and implementation process. Follow the direction and directives of the supervising therapist 
• Learn how to accurately and thoroughly document patient assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and results. Observe the procedures and instructions that the supervising therapist and the therapeutic setting have supplied.
• Follow ethical and professional norms of conduct. Be professional when interacting with patients, coworkers, and other medical personnel.
• To increase your knowledge and stay current with developments in the field of physical therapy, engage in continuing professional development activities like attending conferences, workshops, and seminars.
• During fieldwork experiences, actively participate in self-reflection, receive feedback, and take advantage of possibilities for ongoing learning. Improve your clinical abilities, broaden your knowledge, and become more professional.

Requirements:

• Enrollment in an accredited physical therapy program. 
• Compliance with program-specific academic requirements and standards. 
• Completion of specified coursework, clinical hours, and fieldwork experiences. 
• Meeting health and immunization requirements as specified by the program or clinical sites.
