Title: Groundskeeper

Pay Rate: $22/hr

Job Type: 3+ month contract

Shift(s): Mon Fri, 6am 2:30pm

Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to work with our client, a world-class university and research center. As a W2 employee you will have access to health benefits. Job Description:

• Mow, fertilize, and water lawns, shrubbery, ground cover, flowering plants and trees
• Prepare beds for planting
• Remove leaves and rubbish from grounds
• Spray herbicides as trained and directed
• Weed small areas
• In a training capacity, and/or under close supervision, cultivate, prune, plant, transplant, fertilize, and water shrubbery, ground cover, flowering plants, and trees
• May operate walking power mowers or other non-mobile power equipment
• Adhere to safety rules

Requirements:

• Demonstrated strong communications skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to understand and follow job-related instructions given in English, either verbally or in writing.
• Basic computer skills(e-mail/Calendaring) and use of smartphones.
• Basic horticultural knowledge; Horticultural industry-related certification is preferred.
• Valid California Non-commercial Class C license required
