Position Summary

Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive program that enhances student learning and supports student development, community engagement, and related programs that emphasize civic and social responsibility, dialogue, and world readiness. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the institution to design and assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives. Contributes to student support initiatives during and beyond times of crisis, conflict and unrest, offering a continuum of engagement and care that can extend beyond the immediate crisis and support students in translating their commitments into future scholarship and career opportunities.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in higher education, adult education, leadership, political science, public service, social work, or a relevant social science.

Required Experience:
5+ years professional experience working in a university, educational institution, youth development or training and development organization; substantive experience developing and managing programs for college-age students, especially in the area of civic engagement; demonstrated knowledge of current research, theory, and best practices of civic learning; commitment and action to support global inclusion, diversity, belonging, equity and accessibility.

Preferred Experience:
Well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards. Knowledge of leadership theory and the leadership development field.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to set goals and design and implement strategies for achieving them. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with diverse stakeholders. Ability to solve problems and interact with individuals at all levels. Strong teamwork abilities. Ability to relate to individuals and groups of student populations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $80,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
