This role is instrumental in educating hiring departments about the Federal Work Study Program and the Learning-Aligned Employment Program (LAEP), empowering them to make informed decisions that benefit both students and the institution.

The Analyst partners with UCSD Career Services and actively participates in hiring fairs to provide eligible students with comprehensive insights into work-study and student employment, elucidating how these opportunities intersect with their financial aid. Collaborating with the Director of Experiential Learning, the Analyst ensures that relevant work experiences are appropriately documented on the co-curricular record, enabling students to showcase their achievements effectively. They also work towards expanding the visibility of opportunities that align with the co-curricular record.

The Analyst assumes a critical role, partnering with the Financial Aid Office, in evaluating the utilization of work study across Departments and Vice Chancellors, generating monthly reports that offer valuable insights. Through celebrating and advocating for student employment as a high-impact practice, the Analyst emphasizes its positive influence on student retention and timely graduation, drawing on AACU research to underscore this connection.

The Analyst provides strategic recommendations to the Chief Human Resources Officer and other Campus Leaders, promoting best practices in student employment to foster continuous improvement.
