POSITION TITLE: Electric Sales Manager

REPORTS TO: President

POSITION DESCRIPTION

A sales manager oversees a company’s entire sales process. They are responsible for employee onboarding, while they develop and implement a sales strategy that caters to the strengths of the sales team. As a sales manager, you will have a hand in process development, market research, initial release, ongoing marketing, and data analysis.

The position of sales manager allows you to exercise both creative and analytical skills. You’ll need to be able to correspond effectively with sales team members to communicate the importance of sales processes and inform their daily activities. At the same time, it’s your job to build a comprehensive sales plan, one that pairs our company’s services with the right consumers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTIBILITIES

On a day-to-day basis, sales managers fulfill a wide variety of tasks. On some days, a sales manager might spend his or her time interviewing new sales candidates or training new hires in the company’s efficient sales procedures. On other days, he or she may review sales reports, or create user-friendly dashboards that convey sales results to executives, stakeholders, and company owners. Some of these duties include:
• Build and promote strong, lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
• Managing organizational sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue, and expense controls
• Develop the sales team through motivation, counseling, and product knowledge education
• Setting quotas, expectations, and individual sales targets with the sales team
• Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence
• Creating dashboards and sales reports for sales teams, management, or clients
• Coordinating with marketing on lead generation and creating new methods for reaching customers
• Tracking sales goals and reporting results as necessary: Monthly, Quarterly, Annually
• Present sales, revenue and expense reports and realistic forecast to the management team
• Oversee activities and performance of the sales team
• Objectives setting, coaching, performance monitoring, new sales tactics, and methods
• Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
• Promote the organization
• Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

Knowledge, Skills, and Education
• BS/MS degree in business administration or a related field
• Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
• Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
• Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
• Managing recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives
• Strong business sense and industry expertise
• Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skill
• Ability to work in a strong flexible, multi-task team environment.
• A clean and valid driver’s license and background check.
• A high level of personal organizational skills with an ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong organization, critical thinking, communication, and creative skills
• Must possess a strong attention to details.
• Electrical industry experience is a plus
